Good morning! I hadn't planned on writing a blog, but this morning I woke up and said, "I'm going to start a blog today." I prefer writing and reading books since everything seems to have a proper order. Blogs oftentimes are too random for me. However, I thought I would share portions from the "Glass" series. So far I have written Broken Glass, Stained Glass, and Looking Glass.
The picture at the top of the blog page was from one of the miracle buttons pictures. I took twelve pictures on July 20, 2015 that have unusual images within them. This particular picture shows a glimpse of the creation of the New Heaven and New Earth. In Revelation 21:1, the beloved disciple says, "Then I saw 'a new heaven and a new earth,' for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away..." (NIV).
In the book Stained Glass, The New Jerusalem, I wrote the following:
Angels travel at the speed of light, perhaps even faster. It reminds me of a rocket blasting off into space. The way John describes the angel in Revelation 10:1 is also fitting. John tells us that "a rainbow was above his head" and "his face was like the sun." I've never seen anything quite like it.
When I asked Kirk about it, he said that the concave part of the angel's body would make him fly faster. Of course, angels are spirit beings, but they are also made of matter. According to Scripture, they can take on the form of a man (Genesis 18:1-19; Mark 16:5).
*See pages 124-125 in Stained Glass, The New Jerusalem. You can read the book for free on the "miracle button" page or the "Stained Glass" page. This particular section is under Chapter Nine, Harvest.
Thank you for reading my first blog!
